Transitions
There is indeed "much busy-ness" as of right now with people moving and starting school/work, but before long the website should be pushing out new content on a regular basis. In the meantime, this blog will (hopefully) become more active and should feed your desires for video game opinions until the website starts booming again. Thanks for your patience...both of you.

There shall be greatness yet...
For the sake of respect and kindness to the glorious readers, I say that updates are coming. Soon enough they will be coming three or so times a week, but as there is much busy-ness, enough to be likened to a crack dealer on payday, that things are taking a little longer at the moment. But rest assured, arrogance and brilliance shall regularly be on display. Huzzah!
In addition, does anyone else find it humorous that the site directs readers to the "navigational sidebar" as though the site was written for 65-year-old grandmothers? We should add "click the links, which allow you to access subesquent pages of this website and the information therein."

Game Companies are Evil

That (wonderful) haiku sums up my thoughts on the coming month. Check this out:
This week: Disgaea 2
9/5: Okami
9/12: NHL '07
9/19: Valkyrie Profile 2 & NEVERWINTER NIGHTS 2*!!! W00T!!!111
9/26: Baten Kaitos Origins
So, yeah. Good thing I currently have nice little credit on my credit card that will net me one of those for (essentially) nothing, that's still ridiculous. In the last 4 months, I have purchased 2 games, and now all of a sudden there are 6 that I want to buy coming out in a month. Because of that there at least 2 or 3 of them that I probably won't buy in the next few months. That means that when I eventually buy them, the game companies lose out on a sale, since I'm almost certainly going to buy used. Hey, I'm value conscious. If companies didn't always save all of their good games for the fall, then this is a non-issue.
In addition, I also want a ninja action-RPG. I think this kind of valuable ninja experience would personally make me a Ninja Lord, and that's as high as a ninja can go. Seriously, anyone who tells you that there is a rank above Ninja Lord is lying.
* Edit: I took this date from GameInformer, which is apparently wrong, since Gamestop has it listed for October 17th. I tend to believe the people selling the game.

Video games are like poetry, they both are beautiful on the inside and the outside.
Okay, the truth is I'm not entirely sure what that means. But what I am sure about is that Knights of the Old Republic 3 better be forthcoming. If I were to list games for which I am most expectantly waiting, it would top the list. And it isn't even an announced game, who knows, maybe not even existent. What this means is that Mass Effect better be sweet, because Bioware is supposed to know what they are doing. And now as Pandemic's better half they have even more resources to make a sweet game. No, I'm not associating Kotor 3 with them because that would be too much to ask for, but I am saying that they need to step up and fill my void. They claim to be valued at $300 million (why is if Bioware.Pandemic not the other way around?!), so if I'm estimating at $30 million a game, BioDemic better have at least three and a third sweet games coming out next year. Of course that's vastly illogical, but who am I to dispute my own brilliance?
In addition, I want a ninja action RPG. I'd like to raise my ninja from ninjahood and grow into a full-fledged silent killer. The potential here seems overwhelming.

The Birth of a Penguin
This first post officially marks the beginning of the group blog called 'The Den' which is going to be part of a larger video game op-ed website, The Vampire Penguin. This blog is meant to be a forum for the writers of that website to randomly discuss events in the videogame industry and popular culture at large, but is going to be largely unmoderated so tangents most likely will occur. It will still be a little while before the website itself goes live, but hopefully this blog will become active in the very new future. That's all for now!
